Jeff Bezos set a new record

Jeff Bezos, the founder of e-commerce giant "Amazon", has been named the world's richest man since March this year. And this time he set a new record as an asset. On Tuesday (July 6), Jeff Bezos became the owner of  211 billion in assets. A decision by the Pentagon, the US Department of Defense, has played a role in Bezos' new milestone.

The Pentagon has announced that it is canceling a cloud computing deal with Microsoft. After that, Amazon's share price rose 4.6 percent in the stock market. As a result, Bezos' net worth rose to 4.7 billion overnight, reaching 211 billion.

Amazon is one of the competitors of Microsoft in the cloud computing sector. Tesla chief Elon Musk was able to move closer to assets of this size in January. In a short time, his fortune reached  210 billion. At the beginning of the year, the two have been fighting for the title of the richest man for some time.

The title passed from Bezos to Mask for a while. Later in March, the title returned to Bezos. At the time, Amazon's share price had risen about 20 percent. Earlier last year, Bezos became the first person in the world to own  200 billion in assets as online shopping increased at the start of the Corona epidemic.

57 year Bezos, stepped down as chief executive of Amazon on Monday (July 5th). He held the helm of the company for 26 years. Andy Jesse, the head of Amazon Web Services, is in charge of the CEO. Bezos will serve as chairman. He owns 11 percent of Amazon.
